  1. I guess traveling at night is not an option in colombian rain forest. Mosquitos are even more active at night. And while most of the wildlife is adorable, like that bird you saw, there are some pretty nasty snakes and insects. That is why you need a guide, I imagine. One road trip idea I have is to start from the northern coast and go south – That way, I can see pretty much the whole country. Hopefully, things are more calm these days in terms of safety.
