There are loads of hotels and guesthouses of all price ranges in Bagan. We were there in the high season and arrived at 2:30am, so it was a bit difficult for us to find a place! We would suggest calling ahead to reserve a room…although that’s easier said than done, the phone lines aren’t all that reliable in Myanmar. After sleeping in the lobby on the floor of a top-end hotel, we ended up checking in here:

New Park Hotel

4 Thiripyitsaya Block No. 4

Nyuang U, Bagan, Myanmar

Phone: +95 61 60322

This hotel is located in a good area near many restaurants. They offer bicycle rentals, horse carriage rides and they can help book onward bus and flight journeys.

Room Info and Costs:

New Park Hotel has a few different types of rooms. They have 2 budget double rooms at the back and when we were there, they were $18/night, including breakfast and private bathroom. The room was clean and of great value.

They also have nicer bungalow style rooms with private patio. These rooms are far nicer and much larger, but cost much more as well – around $50/night, including a/c, satellite tv and bathroom.

We found New Park Hotel to be of great value, the staff were very helpful and the hotel was in a great location.
