When we booked our Osprey Ferry tickets from Grenada to Carriacou, we had no idea where we were going to stay on the island. Many of the hotels we looked at were over our budget, or we would have to take an expensive taxi ride to get there.
After speaking with the helpful members of the Osprey team, we learned that they have a hotel affiliated with the ferry line! The hotel was called Town House and it was perfect for us.
Checking In
We got off the boat and started asking around for the Town House. It seemed everyone knew it and pointed us in the right direction. The hotel was very close to the docks and only a 3 minute walk – which is great when you have luggage and the sun is beaming down.
We were greeted by Reisha, the friendly staff member who showed us to our double room.
Our Room
When we entered the room, we immediately noticed how clean and spacious it was! Two double beds with colourful blankets were set against the wall on nice tile flooring and it had a small balcony overlooking the funky street down below, with views out to the sea.
Air-conditioning, a modern bathroom, a t.v. and a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave and dishes were nice luxuries in this double room.
There are only 9 rooms at this intimate hotel. Some have one king-sized bed, and others have two doubles. We found that the king room was smaller and had less light than the double bed rooms.
The Location
The Town House is located right in the heart of Hillsborough on main street, just steps from the inter-island ferry docks and immigration. You’ll find ATM machines, grocery stores and great restaurants within steps of this hotel.
But most importantly, the Town House is directly opposite a gorgeous stretch of sand! One of the best beaches in the area is located right in Hillsborough, just minutes from the hotel.
Room Rates
Double rooms here are $165EC/night (including tax), making it a great budget hotel in the area.
Overall Opinion
It can be hard to find any budget-friendly accommodation options in the Caribbean. The Town House is a great hotel for anyone, but especially for those travelling on a budget. With well-priced rooms and a prime location right next to the gorgeous beach, restaurants and ferry docks, we were very happy with our stay at Town House.
We only spent two nights, but were able to get a good impression of the hotel, the staff and the location.

A big thank you to the Town House for hosting us during this portion of our stay on Carriacou Island. As always, all reviews, thoughts and opinions remain our own.
I’d LOVE to go to the Caribbean, it seems a lot of people/bloggers are there at the moment! When I return to Scotland and save some pennies I will definitely plan my next (hopefully Caribbean) adventure 🙂
The Caribbean has been a great place to travel and to live! Save your pennies 🙂
