Kimberly’s Expertise

Since 2006, I have worked as a full-time travel writer. I spend a lot of time traveling around my home state of Florida and I’ve lived in quite a few cities in The Sunshine State over the years. My niche includes travel – especially exploring my own ‘backyard’ of Florida.

Kimberly’s #1 Travel Tip

Always travel with an open heart. Embrace the culture and the locals so you can truly get a feel for the location.

Explore not just the present day, but also the history of the region. Don’t hesitate to try the local cuisine and get off the beaten track to find the pulse of the area. Sometimes the greatest adventures are experienced outside the tourist regions of a location.

Kimberly’s Favorite Food

I like to keep my food simple when traveling. Always pack a bag of snacks in case you can can’t find anywhere to dine if you are adventuring along the backroads.

Kimberly’s Favorite Destination

One of my favorite destinations in Florida will always be the Sarasota. The white sandy beaches beckon to me.

I spent a couple of months in Goa, India. The locals were warm and inviting. The beaches were lovely. I felt lucky to have the opportunity to truly immerse myself in the area.

Where Have You Lived?

I grew up in Oregon and moved to Florida approximately a decade ago. I’ve lived and traveled all around the state of Florida.

Funny Travel Quirk

I never leave home without my hand sanitizer (even pre-Covid19).
